Job Location: Liverpool City Centre
Workplace Type: Hybrid - 3 days office based, 2 days WFH. Travel within the UK and overseas will be required during event seasons.
Employment Type: Full time,Monday to Friday, typically 9 to 5 during office days. Event hours may vary dependent on demands.

Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Events Manager to join a dynamic team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in events management and take on rewarding projects from day one.
About Us:
STEM Women introduces university students to graduate employers through our careers events and our job board services. We have become the market leader within this niche, growing sector and have clients based in the UK, Netherlands, Ireland and Australia.
We are an established SME with 9 staff, and we work in a friendly, collaborative, and supportive environment. We have organised events since 2018 and will run 20 in-person careers events during 2024.
Role:
- Based within the events team, you will work closely with the Head of Events to deliver high quality events year-round in Europe and Australia.
- The role will involve visiting new locations to scope out potential venues. You will be expected to assess venue suitability after considering the location, local transportation, size and cost. You will maintain up to date reports on potential venues for senior management use.
- Once events are confirmed you can expect to work on a wide variety of event planning tasks relating to venue logistics, floorplans, catering, people flow and attendee experience on the day. You will also check that event related marketing and onboarding materials are accurate.
- During an event you can expect to travel to the event city and manage a small team on the event day, problem solving any issues that arise on the day.
- Post event, you will collect feedback and data and present your reports and findings to the rest of the company so we can improve our events in future.
- Working with other departments as needed including Sales, Marketing, and our Event Sourcing team to ensure we meet companywide targets and do not exceed our budgets.
- Ad hoc tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Applicants must live within commuting distance of Liverpool city centre.
- University degree (any subject)
- Commercial experience in an events management related role (ideally in hospitality or recruitment events).
- Knowledge of the graduate recruitment industry is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage relationships with multiple suppliers, teams, and stakeholders.
- Excellent project-management skills, organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Good report keeping skills and innovative thinking.
- Ability and desire to travel year-round for our events.
