Events Manager - Prospect Us : Job Details

The British Society for Rheumatology is the UK's leading specialist medical society for medical professionals specialising in rheumatology and musculoskeletal medicine. We are pleased to be supporting them in their search for a temporary Events Manager (35 hours per week). The post is to start as soon as possible, running until the mid-end of May 2025 and offers a hybrid working model of Tuesdays onsite and the rest remote. Please note that there will be travel and overnight stays required for this post.

Key responsibilities for this post will include:

• Working with the Head of Events to plan and deliver the Annual BSR Conference & Exhibition, taking responsibility for the exhibition management and event programme.
• Planning and delivery of the Adult and Paediatric Case-based Conference, managing all event logistics, communications and programme development.
• Keeping in line with provided budgets, sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and venues to ensure best value for money.
• Keeping up to date with relevant event trends within the industry.

To be considered for this role you will have:

• Worked in a similar position previously and have demonstratable experience working in conference and event delivery, including hybrid event delivery.
• Strong experience in programme and content management.
• Demonstratable project management skills.
• Previous experience liaising with external stakeholders including venues and suppliers.
• Worked with budgets and handled invoices.
• Strong communication and engagement skills.

This position is being offered on a temporary basis, to start as soon as possible, so you will need to be available immediately or have a short notice period to be considered.
