Job Description:
Reed is currently working with a growing accountancy practice, who are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Semi Senior to join their team in Brentwood. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing their accounting and payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable/receivable.
- Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Process payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and handle payroll queries.
- Ensure timely submission of payroll-related reports and payments to HMRC.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Stay updated with changes in payroll and tax legislation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ACA.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts and payroll.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
