Job Description :

Our client part of a global market leader is a well-established, award winning profitable specialist medical manufacturing company that operates from a modern purpose-built factory based in Hereford (HR2) and employs around 150 people.

Processes on site include metal work fabrication, moulding, vacuum forming and CNC machining together with assembly and despatch.

They are currently seeking an experienced Team leader to lead the Fabrication department whilst ensuring parts are produced and assembled to strict ISO / Medical / FDA Quality standards and meeting H&S obligations all within a lean environment.

Main responsibilities -

Organise and prioritise workload for the team based on the production schedule ensuring the department meets deadlines and OTIF.

Responsible for the day to day running of the department being first point of contact for all daily operational activities.

Update Site Manager and colleagues at daily morning brief on all output, quality and health and safety matters.

Ensure all welded products adhere to the highest quality standards.

Responsible for managing the team including managing absence and performance

Motivating the team to achieve deadlines and ensuring training is given to achieve a multi skilled workforce.

Ensure housekeeping is maintained to acceptable levels (5S).

Ensure materials are issued to the operators in a timely manner and report any material issues/stock outs to the planning department.

Understand technical drawings to facilitate product concept to product realisation.

Conduct learning sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

A recognised engineering qualification e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in (Manufacturing) Engineering

Experience:

Recent experience as a team leader/supervisor managing a team of welders and fabricators.

Recent experience working in a manufacturing environment where you were responsible for reading and analysing a production schedule to enable you to organise and prioritise workload for the team.

Salary levels are negotiable around £38,000 - £40,000 plus plenty of training and potential opportunities within a global organisation - to apply please send your CV to Gary Simpson
