About The RoleROLE OVERVIEW To work as a part of the operational OCS Team. The Team Leader will be required to exercise initiative and judgement to ensure the provision of an efficient, effective and a quality 'front of house' service that is supportive to the wards/departments and outer areas. The post holder will be courteous and caring to patients, visitors, all service users and Hospital Staff.You will be working 5 days over 7, 1 weekend in 3, between 10.00-18.00, 37.5 hours per week. KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivering the Service - On a daily basis, team leader will be required to identify and respond to user needs and to solve problems/complaints as and when they arise. This will require an effective liaison with other staff groups, particularly nursing and actively seek constructive feedback on service provision. Team leader's role covers a range of services within facilities.
  • To train, monitor and supervise OCS staff in all the elements of their role.
  • To supervise the handling of clinical waste generated by the retained estate.
  • Supervisors are required to work with staff teams and to carry out domestic, housekeeping and other duties to cover the needs of the service.
  • A Supervisor will be required to have the knowledge and technical ability to be able to undertake and teach staff the skills necessary to complete service delivery.
  • Supports the OCS Health and Safety Policy ensuring staff are trained to ensure the safety of staff, visitors and patient within their area of work.
  • Monitor areas of responsibility to ensure service standards are consistently delivered in line with the latest National Cleaning Standards taking remedial action as necessary.
  • Monitoring of catering services at ward level to ensure compliance with the Trust's food safety documentation and current food safety legislation as highlighted in the OCS food services policy and the ward catering procedures.
  • Actively support the reduction in food wastage.
  • To support the On site team in ensuring equipment used to deliver the service is of the standard required and is maintained to physical and technical standards.
  • To maintain sufficient stock levels to deliver the service.
  • Undertake initial investigation and reporting of untoward incidents and accidents using Eco Online and Datix systems.
  • Completion and returning of Absence Monitoring forms inline with the OCS policy.
  • Will be required to take responsibility for ensuring that return to work interviews are completed in a timely manner and managers are informed when an employee reaches the next stage of the OCS Management of Sickness and Absence Policy.
  • The post holder may be required to work on other wards/departments within the Contract at short notice to cover unplanned sickness, planned sickness or to cover annual leave.
  • At all times work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Report any incidents of breaches of Health and Safety and report any dangerous acts or omissions that are seen in the course of duty that compromises the Health and Safety of staff or patients using the OCS Health and Safety policy.
  • Comply with audit recommendations and risk assessment recommendations to make the workplace and work practice safer.
  • The post holder is responsible for taking reasonable care regarding themselves as well as for any colleagues, patients or visitors who might be affected by any act or failure to act by the post holder in accordance with the OCS's policies on Health and Safety at Work.
  • To report any accident, untoward incident or loss relating to staff, patients or visitors according to OCS / Trust policies.
  • To undertake OCS and Trust service training relevant to the post.
  • Comply with OCS and Trust Policies and Procedures. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Essential - GCSE Math and English
  • Level 1 or 2 Food Safety.
  • Friendly, respectful of colleagues.
  • Awareness of own limitations.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for self and others.
  • Ability to satisfy Occupational Health screening.
  • Adaptable and flexible according to the demands of the service.
  • Understanding of need to maintain confidentiality.
  • Record of efficiency.
  • Good communication and positive contributions to previous employment.
