Job Description :

We are currently seeking a Fencing Operative to join our Environmental Services team in Blackburn. In this role you'll play a vital role in enhancing our community's outdoor spaces. In this hands-on position, you'll implement fencing improvement programs, manage repairs, and support the installation of new fencing.

Requirements

Outline of Key responsibilities for the Fencing Operative...

  • To carry out all Installations, repairs, and the maintaining of fences on our properties.
  • Prepare and clean the work area before and after completing tasks.
  • Handle and operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all operations are compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • To help the Supervisor organize work, order materials, and ensure projects are completed on time and maintain quality.
  • To supervise and train Trainees and Apprentices, ensuring their safety and service standards are met.
  • To always follow good health and safety and equal opportunities practices and understand all Risk Assessments for tasks.
  • Providing high quality customer service to all volunteers/placements, trainees, and apprentices and customers
  • To support various departments as directed, including Mobile Cleaning, Estate Services Team, and Grounds Maintenance.

We are looking for someone who has...

  • Experience in fencing installation, or repairs and maintenance
  • Full manual UK driving Licence
  • Knowledge of different types of fencing materials and construction techniques.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills
