The role

As part of the Technology Transformation Portfolio, you’ll contribute to exciting projects shaping Southwark’s future.What you’ll be doing:

  • Review and process invoices, ensuring approval processes are followed.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and age creditor reports.
  • Raise purchase orders (POs) and liaise with vendors.
  • Resolve vendor queries and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Manage recruitment processes for agency and permanent staff.
  • Liaise with recruitment teams and external agencies to secure top talent.
  • Oversee onboarding and induction for new team members.
  • Organise and plan key meetings and events, such as Board Meetings and Quarterly Briefing Sessions.
  • Prepare agendas, circulate documentation, and take minutes.
  • Create high-quality presentations, reports, and other documentation for the TDS team.
  • Support the coordination of mentoring and coaching programmes for TDS staff.
  • Work closely with the Technology Transformation team on budget, HR, and admin activities.

How will you make an impact as our Finance & Resource Officer?

  • Skilled in Financial Admin and HR support processes, preferably in a Local Government environment.
  • Previous admin support and resource optimisation experience.
  • Experienced in driving performance through effective strategies and systems.
  • Growth-oriented with a collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Skilled at maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines in fast-paced
  • A high comfort level with Microsoft Applications (MS365)
  • Proactive, innovative, and adept at solving challenges.
  • Strong communicator capable of influencing stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Financial Systems reporting and analysis.
  • Flexible hybrid working, blending remote work with visits to our London Bridge HQ.

Salary Range: £34,275 - £40,344
