Accounts Assistant
Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This role is essential in ensuring that our finance function supports the wider business effectively, providing key assistance to the Financial Controller while managing day-to-day finance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Assistant Duties:
- Assist in day-to-day financial transactions, including processing invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial data in the company’s accounting system.
- Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end and year-end financial closings.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgets.
- Process employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policy.
- Manage cash flow and maintain accurate records.
- Support the Financial Controller with general financial tasks.
Credit Controller Duties:
- Oversee the company’s credit control process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments.
- Communicate with clients to resolve outstanding debts.
- Monitor and manage the aged debtor report, identifying and actioning overdue accounts.
- Produce regular reports for management on overdue debts, payment status, and outstanding balances.
Key Requirements:
- Experience in a finance assistant, credit control, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting software is desired but not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- A proactive, problem-solving attitude with strong communication skills.
- Critical thinking ability to suggest improvements to current processes.
