Energy storage has a crucial role to play in the energy transition, and our technology enables the transformation of energy systems.The role?This role sits within the accounting and finance team and will feed into the day to day finance operations within the organisation. The role has become available due to the previous finance assistant being promoted due to skills they have developed with the role and successfully passing AAT exams (part of our study package). The role has been modernised and we are introducing automation as part of the role to reduce the time spent on data entry which will aide your development into a future career path within the accounting and finance team.The Finance Assistant will report to the Head of Finance and is responsible for including but not limited to accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), Banking and Management Accounts. We hope this candidate has a passion for automating manual processes as this will be a key driver for this position.You will the team in:Accounts Payable
- Entering supplier invoices and credit note
- Process expenses
- Credit card reconciliation
- Setting up payment run approval
- Assisting the team with supplier queries when required
Accounts Receivable
- Raising and entering customer invoices and credit notes
- Reconciling customer billing
- Supporting with sales admin e.g. new line forms and new customer set up processes
- Supporting with credit control and chasing overdue invoices
Banking
- Assisting with the preparation of financial documents such as invoices and bank / credit card reconciliations
- Posting bank payments and receipts
- Setting up payment runs
Management Accounts
- Supporting the month-end and year-end processes
- Assistance in maintaining the general ledger
- Managing and maintaining accurate records and documentation
Ad Hoc
- Assisting with ad hoc financial tasks
- Maintaining databases, financial reports
About You:• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail• Good numerical skills with the ability to process data accurately• Familiarity with accounting software (experience with Access is a plus)• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small team• A proactive attitude with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines• Previous experience in a similar finance or administrative role is desirable but not essential• Studying AAT or ACCA desirable (we will support this as part of our study package)
