Finance Assistant - Supply Chain - B&M Retail : Job Details

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant - Supply Chain to join the B&M Finance team here at Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool L24. This is a full time, in the office and permanent role.

We are looking for someone who will assist and support operational financial output for our Supply Chain function. This will be supported by applying data-focused analysis to help ensure efficiencies and process in costs.

So we need someone who is diligent and organised with an inquisitive approach, not afraid to question and challenge and resolve anomalies. Your background will already be within commercial finance so you’ll a good understanding of working to deadlines and at pace.

The key accountabilities of this role are but not restricted to:

• Assisting and preparing the weekly P&L forecast
• Managing the purchase order processes and liaising with Suppliers
• Assisting with Month end reconciliations, preparing accruals and prepayments
• Monitor costs to ensure the business meets financial objectives
• Proactively review and analyse operational performance of the supply chain versus plan, to support our supply chain GM’s and Directors
• Assist in various adhoc analysis projects to identify risks and opportunities in performance, supporting the Commercial Finance Manager
• Other ad-hoc duties as required

The skills/qualifications required to be successful are:

• Qualified in (or working towards) an accountancy qualification (AAT) is an ideal but not essential
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
• Great attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience of managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
• A quick learner who is eager to further broaden their knowledge and develop their career and acquire a further qualification
