We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as Finance Business Partner - Non Payroll Group Central Cost at Holland & Barrett. The Non-Payroll Finance Business Partner (FBP) plays a pivotal role in driving financial control, strategic cost management, and performance analysis across all non-payroll central costs. This includes oversight of third-party spend, supplier contracts, and operational expenses. The role is key to ensuring cost transparency, divisional alignment, and a structured approach to cost efficiency. Additionally, this position will actively support the Head of Group Central Costs in reforming the finance team, elevating the quality of financial outputs, and embedding best practice frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering & Cost Accountability
- Act as a trusted finance partner to divisional leads, ensuring strong ownership of non-payroll costs.
- Drive compliance with purchase order (PO) policies and procurement governance across the business.
- Challenge, influence, and support stakeholders in making informed financial decisions that drive cost efficiency.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for central non-payroll costs, ensuring accuracy and appropriate phasing of spend.
- Develop and maintain robust cost models to track spend patterns, highlight risks, and identify opportunities for savings.
- Ensure all financial planning activities are aligned with business priorities and long-term strategic goals.
Third-Party Spend & PO Oversight
- Provide commercial support for POs against third-party spend, across supplier contract renewals, and other procurement decisions, ensuring they are appropriately mapped
- Track committed vs non committed spends diligently and ensure all GRNI balances are up to date
Strengthening Financial Control & Cost Efficiency
- Enhance financial governance over indirect cost categories, embedding strong financial control mechanisms.
- Drive cost efficiency initiatives and lead savings programmes by identifying opportunities to optimise non-payroll expenditure.
- Ensure cost allocation methodologies are transparent, fair, and support divisional accountability.
Reporting, Data Accuracy & Process Improvement
- Implement structured reporting frameworks for non-payroll cost tracking and business partnering.
- Develop automated reporting solutions to enhance cost analysis and provide real-time financial insights.
- Ensure cost data accuracy by continuously improving financial systems, processes, and analytical tools.
Strategic Cost Management & Business Alignment
- Work closely with divisional leads to align cost management strategies with broader business priorities.
- Champion a cost-conscious culture, ensuring financial discipline and efficiency are embedded in business decision-making.
- Provide senior stakeholders with clear, data-driven recommendations on cost control and optimisation.
Support to the Head of Group Central Costs
- Assist in reforming the finance team, upskilling colleagues, and elevating the quality of financial outputs.
- Lead the development of storyboarding and financial narratives to support cost excellence initiatives.
- Work on ad hoc projects, ensuring finance remains at the forefront of strategic decision-making
Management of a Finance Analyst
- Oversee and mentor a Finance Analyst providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
- Ensure the Finance Analyst is effectively supporting cost tracking, data integrity, and reporting activities.
- Delegate tasks efficiently to enhance team productivity while upskilling the Finance Assistant in key financial processes.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, ensuring alignment with finance transformation objectives.
Location:
This role is based in Nuneaton, and may be occasionally required to travel to our London Hub or to any other location of H&B. We support flexibility and productivity of our employees by hybrid working arrangements with minimum 2 days presence in the office.
