Michael Page Finance are exclusively partnering a global Logistics and Freight Forwarding business based near Feltham.

Globally the group turnover £6.4billion and in the UK they turnover £140million. This leading specialist logistics business provide Freight Forwarding and Warehousing solutions across Air and Sea and provide world-class service across the full supply chain. Over the last few years they are in a sustained period of growth and are also an award winning Top Employer in 2024.

This is a newly created operational Finance Business Partnering role that will be supported by their Shared Service Centre.

Description

The Finance Business Partner will be responsible for:

• Providing and owning the business budgets and forecasts, variance analysis and creation of KPI reports.
• Perform financial analysis to provide insight into financial performance drivers/trends, helping to identify business risks and opportunities, and critically understanding and controlling costs
• Adopting and owning adherence to the controlling principles
• Working in full collaboration and partnership with the UK shared service organisation to ensure accurate, timely and controlled production of financial accounts and a clean balance sheet
• Leveraging the current financial/operational systems to ensure timely & accurate data production / insight driven reporting
• Business partnering with the commercial and branch teams to provide an accurate and holistic view of company performance. Report performance against budgets and forecasts, providing incisive analysis of variances and proactively identifying initiatives to control costs, improve flows of financial information
• Provide robust analytical and financial insight, decision support and expertise. Delivering ad-hoc financial investment analysis/projects to the board in a clear and concise way, focusing on key decision factors
• Work with the wider business to implement and monitor performance of new (local and European) initiatives, ensuring that financial benefits are realised
• Identify and develop stakeholder relationships internally and externally that add value to the business in the short, medium and long term
• Develop, document and embed scalable financial analysis processes and controls to support significant company growth, including integration of potential acquisitions
• The role will involve some travel within the UK and Europe

Profile

A successful Finance Business Partner will ideally be:

• A fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Demonstrable experience in finance business partnering
• Commercial acumen with a demonstrable track record supporting a business to drive decision making
• Able to challenge and influence at all levels including C-Suite
• Comfortable working in operations
• Advanced Excel skills
• ERP Experience, e.g. SAP

Job Offer

The Finance Business Partner role comes with a competitive base salary of £70,000-£80,000, bonus, 26 days holiday, life assurance, pension and much more! They also offer hybrid working.
