My client requires a Finance Business Partner to join their dynamic Property leadership team and the wider financial reporting team to help run an efficient, value-for-money operation. You will understand the drivers of cost and revenue in the business, working closely with the team to identify key levers for operational and strategic decision-making. Your analysis of financial and non-financial data will provide insights into value for money and efficiencies, help the team become more commercially savvy and cost-conscious.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain budget adherence while achieving operational goals, unless there's an approved, value-for-money reason to diverge
- Provide decision support for initiatives to the Property Leadership Team
- Partner with Property leadership to make informed decisions and achieve business area targets, including the repairs joint venture operation
- Challenge managers on costs, assumptions, and processes to ensure professional and commercial operations, delivering value for money for customers
- Contribute to senior management meetings, including Pyramid joint venture meetings, and drive action through financial and business performance presentations
- Promote and embed a value-for-money culture across the business by benchmarking against best-in-class practices within and outside the sector
- Collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to balance long-term property investment plans with short-term responsive repair costs
- Act as a critical friend, ensuring accurate budgeting and forecasting with consistent and justifiable assumptions
- Identify, report, and mitigate risks to the budget and forecast in collaboration with the business
- Serve as the bridge between Finance and Property, fostering mutual understanding and information exchange
- Support financial planning processes with robust assumptions and data, aiding in strategy development for property
- Lead financial reviews as part of continuous improvement to enhance financial reporting, performance, and controls
Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar)
- Demonstrable experience of business partnering with senior management
- Ability to challenge strong stakeholders while maintaining positive relationships
- Previous experience in a senior role within a housing association, property management, real estate, or a similar industry desirable
- Persistent and resilient, capable of delivering value even with poor quality data and processes
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels within a business
