Finance Director - Kate John Associates Limited : Job Details

KJA are delighted to be working exclusively with this fast growing, profitable, family owned business in Yate who are looking to appoint their first in-house Finance Director.

Working closely with the SMT, you will be accountable for setting up and bringing in-house the finance function at this exciting time. You will have responsibility for all the Financial activity within the business, from transactional Finance and daily cash management through to the sign off of the Annual Accounts (and supporting the existing in-house team/bookkeeper with payroll).

You will be naturally commercial, inquisitive and comfortable working within a family owned business. You will be hands on but also strategic in in your outlook.

You will be a self starter who will likely have worked within a small to medium sized organisation at a senior level, and be familiar and comfortable with the breadth of tasks required.

This would include the day to day running of the accounting operations but also proactively business partner the SMT to provide insight and analysis in order to present opportunities/risks to support growth; eg looking at contracts, current pricing models and analysing profitability.

This opportunity would sit well with someone who is capable and willing to provide financial leadership, including strategic and operational responsibilities. Someone who is ambitious and commercial in outlook, comfortable reporting to the Senior Leadership Team delivering financial results, but can also roll their sleeves up and deal with day-to day matters that you find in a growing business.

Experience/Qualifications;

Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

Experience of working at a similar level of seniority within a fast paced SME (happy to consider people looking to step up from a Head of Finance role or those who are seasoned FDs).

Proactive mindset and willingness to demonstrate a hands on yet strategic outlook.

Experience of building and managing a small team.

Interpersonally strong and able to communicate finance effectively to a non finance audience.
