Financial Controller/Finance Director

Based: Chester

Salary: circa £80k + benefits + flexible working + opportunity for growth

Our client is a rapidly expanding SME Retailer who have created a brand new role to support their growth over the next few years. 2024 was a fantastic year for them, winning numerous awards, doubling in size and with a strategic plan to double size again over the next couple of years, they have created a new Finance & Operations role to work alongside the MD

The next 24-36 months are crucial offering some fantastic opportunities to grow revenue, with a newly promoted senior management team we are recruiting an FD to sit on the SLT – overseeing finance but also involved in the running of the business

Role:

• Overseeing all aspects of finance
• Producing monthly management accounts, monthly board pack
• Reconciliations – bank, stock, balance sheet
• Working with the MD on overseeing all HR, Operations and wider business
• Providing insights on current performance & driving internal improvements
• Budgeting, forecasting, support with NPD and potential future investments
• Assisting in preparing operational functions & wider business for growth
• Heavily involved in stock planning, stock management and streamlining despatch
• Working as number 2 to the MD supporting in future business growth

Experience:

• ACA, CIMA, ACCA qualified with post qual experience
• Retail / Ecommerce / Stock experience essential
• Ability to see the bigger picture and look after wider areas including leading finance function
• Commercial acumen and keen to progress
