Reed Finance are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager, on behalf of our client, to oversee all company accounts and investments. This role involves creating detailed financial reports and forecasts, supporting budget planning, and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP requirements. The successful candidate will lead the finance department, driving continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee all company accounts and investments, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
- Support the General Manager in budget planning, forecasting, and investment appraisals.
- Manage and report on cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports.
- Supervise and manage finance department staff, motivating and leading team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback.
- Suggest improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing, and oversee the introduction of a BACS payment process.
- Assist with the preparation of payroll for submission to a third-party bureau, including the creation of P11Ds and other tax year-end requirements.
- Coordinate the year-end annual audit and liaise with external stakeholders such as suppliers, customers, auditors, and insurance providers.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
- Report to the General Manager with timely and accurate financial information and assist in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
- Several years of post-qualified experience in a business or finance environment.
- Management experience preferred, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Organisational skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are key to this role.
- Proficient research and analysis skills; strong computer skills and understanding of data privacy standards.
