Job Description :
Career Moves are thrilled to be working exclusively with an expanding Travel business based in the heart of London. Our client is going through an exciting period of growth, hence the need for a driven Finance Manager to come on board. Reporting directly into the CFO, this is a unique opportunity for a newly qualified accountant who wants to 'earn their stripes' in their first managerial position, whilst working in a supportive and collaborative environment.Duties include:
  • Keep the Board and Management informed on company financial performance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all finance-related queries within the business.
  • Oversee the finance function, including AP, AR, tax filings, and management accounts.
  • Lead and mentor the Finance team to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow) and reconciliations for all entities in the Group.
  • Consolidate the Group’s monthly financial accounts and ensure intercompany transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Manage the preparation of Board Packs and monthly payroll across multiple countries.
  • Review AP/AR activities and authorize payments.
  • Support the year-end process, including preparation of statutory financial statements, tax returns, and audits.
  • Conduct financial analysis to guide business decisions, growth, and investments.
  • Assist in preparing the budget and regular financial forecasts.
  • Ensure timely tax submissions and compliance across countries, supported by external advisers.
  • Aid in tax compliance, risk management, and the annual insurance renewal process.
  • Ensure sufficient team coverage by encouraging cross-training and strong teamwork.
  • Document and improve business processes and internal controls.
  • Act as deputy for the CFO during their absence. Participate in ad-hoc projects to support company success.
Skills:
  • A practical understanding of IFRS and accounting principles and techniques
  • ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices
  • Solid IT skills, including proficiency in the relevant accounting packages
  • A strong understanding of tax codes and laws
  • Strong analytical skills to effectively analyse financial reports
  • In-depth knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting
  • An appropriate accounting qualification
