The Finance Manager will be responsible for providing financial and accounting support to the school, including policy setting and application, resource and budget management and all elements of financial administration.The Finance Manager will manage the Finance Assistant but will have a large influence over the whole school community. Candidates need to hold AAT qualification, part-qualified CIMA or ACCA, or equivalent.

Client Details

You will be working for an independent, academically selective day school for approximately 880 girls aged 3-18. The school is part of a wider trust of 24 schools.

Description

Key duties are as follows:

• Assist the DFO in preparing and managing the school's annual expenditure budget in accordance with GDST guidelines and give financial advice and information to budget holders.
• Manage the school's financial administration in accordance with the GDST's financial accounting procedures including payroll and VAT
• Prepare monthly, annual and periodical returns and claims, including monthly payroll input and VAT returns, for Trust Office as required.

Profile

Requirements will be as follows:

• Accountancy /Financial qualification (ACCA/CIMA)
• Understanding and application of Accounting software, egPS Financials /SAGE Software or equivalentintermediate
• Understanding and application of MS Office, word processing, excel spreadsheets
• Experience in using, SIMS, PLANET, Payroll Software
• Working in a finance or accountancy environment
• Successfully operating financial database and spreadsheet packages in a commercial/educational environment
• Finance analysis and reporting in a business environment
• Line Management of Finance staff
• Processing monthly payroll data
