The Company

My client is a specialist retail company based near Reading and it is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to oversee key financial operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the company's success through effective financial management and leadership.

The Role

This is a crucial position for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) who will manage a team of junior staff and oversee core financial functions, including purchase ledger, month-end processes, reconciliations, and management accounts. You will work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure efficient financial operations and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage month-end processes, including balance sheet revaluations and IFRS-compliant lease accounting.
• Prepare statutory reporting, including VAT returns, tax reports, and audit coordination.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain financial policies and procedures.
• Support commercial projects and contribute to strategic financial planning.

Skills & Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with proven experience in a Finance Manager role.
• Strong team leadership and management skills.
• Knowledge of UK and European financial regulations.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
