Finance Officer
- Salary Range: £30,000 - £32,000
- Location: Kingston
- Job Type: Permanent, Term Time plus 4 weeks
- Working Hours: 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday
My client is looking for a dedicated Finance Officer to join their team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for effective financial administration within the Trust, maintaining accounting systems in line with statutory and regulatory frameworks, and adhering to trust policies and procedures.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Accurate processing of all transactions from initial order to payment, ensuring adherence to financial procedures.
- Maintenance of financial records using Access Education, Excel, and other databases.
- Efficient handling of orders, returns, delivery notes, and invoice settlements.
- Liaising with suppliers, reconciling statements, and resolving queries.
- Management of Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger, including credit control.
- Receipting and banking cheques and cash, processing online payments, and managing petty cash.
- Regular reconciliation of sales and purchase ledger records.
- Filing and maintenance of all relevant folders and files.
- Providing financial information to staff, governors, and auditors as required.
- Assisting the Finance Manager with ad hoc duties as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial administration, preferably within an educational setting.
- Proficiency in using financial databases, Access Education, and Excel.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively and support the Finance Manager effectively.
