This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of the institution, contributing to its financial operations and ensuring smooth financial processes. About the Role:In this key position, you will assist in the day-to-day financial management of the school, ensuring compliance with financial procedures and helping maintain accurate records. Responsibilities will include:
- Bank Account Management: Support the Finance Manager by maintaining proper control of the school's bank accounts, including reconciling statements and processing payment runs.
- Processing Financial Transactions: Accurately process transactions using the PS Financials accounting software, adhering to KCSP financial guidelines.
- School Trip Costings: Prepare costings for school trips and manage the income received via the ParentPay cashless payment system.
- Month-End and Year-End Processes: Assist in the preparation of key financial reports including trial balance, balance sheet, and management accounts as part of the school's month-end and year-end processes.
- Excel Proficiency: Use advanced Excel skills to manage databases and provide accurate budgetary information.
- Asset Register: Maintain the school's asset register using the Parago system, regularly updating records and participating in annual audits.
- Purchase Orders: Support the Finance Assistant with school purchase order processing.
What They’re Looking For:
- Previous Experience: You will have prior experience in a similar finance role, preferably within an educational environment (though this is not essential).
- Numeracy Skills: Highly numerate, with the ability to process and interpret complex financial information.
- IT Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and able to navigate financial software systems with ease.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and accuracy in all financial matters.
- Proactive Attitude: You should be able to work independently, using your initiative to solve problems and improve processes.
