Job Description :

Our client is a well respected and high growth group of companies with interest across Legal Services, Professional Services and Financial ServicesAs part of the companies continued expansion, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a experienced finance professional to join the business as Management Accountant.

Primary Objective:

Responsibility for the preparation of monthly management and annual statutory reporting for all companies within the group. Managing the group VAT returns, payroll arrangements, ledger maintenance, bookkeeping, budget and forecasting, banking and cash flow management. Ensuring that the companies remain within strict FCA and SRA compliance rules.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the preparation for monthly and year end closings
  • Responsibility for the preparation for monthly and year end consolidated accounts and commentary
  • Complete all month and year end adjustments including: accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany adjustments financial asset & liability adjustments
  • Provide monthly P&L and Balance Sheet analysis; highlighting key variances to budget, suggesting improvements where possible
  • Assist in developing document processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal records.
  • Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger duties (Inc credit control)
  • Prepare & process expense payments to staff
  • Responsibility for client payment approvals, ensuring that compliance is maintained inc completion of the daily client account reconciliation
  • Manage intercompany postings and ensure that company balances agree
  • Manage relationship with our third-party payroll provider to complete the monthly payroll (support in bringing this in house)
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
  • Coordinating with external audit and tax teams
  • Manage group cash balances, ensuring sufficient amounts remain in each company to comply with internal policy and external covenants
  • Ensure compliance GAAP principles and best practice set by the Finance Director
  • Completing financial reports on a regular basis and providing information to the CFO

The ideal candidate will be working towards ACA / ACCA / CIMA if not already qualified and ideally have at least 2-3 years experience gained operating within management / financial accounting Experience gained within the Financial Services, Legal Services or Professional Services Sector would be a major advantage but not essentialOther experience Knowledge of Xero accounting software and other consolidation tools such as Joiin and May day would be desirable

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)Strong written and oral communication skills Strong attention to detail Confident working on own initiativeTeam workerHighly organised with efficient time management and ability to prioritise accordingly to ensure deadlines are met

In return a basic salary DOE of £45,000 + Study (If required) excellent benefits and bonus awaits.
