Rate: £280 - £310 per day paid via Umbrella Company

Working hours: Hybrid (3 days on site / 2 days from home)

Working pattern: 35 hours a week

We are working with a leading Membership Organisation to recruit for a Financial Accountant on an interim contract that has the opportunity to go permanent. The role will be responsible for producing statutory accounts and assisting the Group Financial Controller at year end. They will also be required to assist with the management accounting function.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Producing statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors at year end
• Managing the month end close processes and performing balance sheet reconciliations
• Reviewing the year-end trial balances and analysing key variances with previous years to identify potential omissions
• Supporting the Financial Accountants to manage the external audit process, undertaking a project management style approach to managing relevant task lists / audit queries and outstanding items
• Managing the month end timetable to ensure deadlines are met
• Ensuring all journals are uploaded into the finance system for approval in compliance with the journals policy and month end deadlines
• Managing the fixed asset register and VAT returns
• Overseeing the management of monthly intercompany journal postings and preparation of intercompany reconciliations
• Assisting the team in producing management accounts and completing the month end process
• Dealing with budget holders and explaining budgets to non-finance staff
• Managing training and performance of the team individually and collectively, monitoring performance, providing regular feedback and encouraging initiative and ideas

Ideal candidate profile:

• Fully Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
• Prior experience working for a not for profit organisation
• Strong financial accounting and year end experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels
