Financial Accountant - James Andrew Recruitment Solutions (JAR Solutions) : Job Details

We are currently partnering with a public sector organisation based in the South West, who are recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis.This role can be based at offices in Exeter or Weston-super-Mare. The role is full-time with a salary band of £55,000-£60,000 (subject to experience) and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Leading the monthly preparation of the Group’s Statement of Financial Position
• Overseeing Group VAT return, ensuring accountability and compliance
• Providing technical expertise to support the production of annual financial accounts
• Assisting with the smooth running of internal and external audits, liaising with auditors
• Line managing Finance Officers
• Reviewing the nominal ledger, producing monthly review packs for the Group and all Subsidiaries
• Reviewing and analysing monthly balance sheet reconciliations for the Group
• Supporting the service charge team in production of Service Charge accounting statements

Experience required:

• Experience required in Financial Accounting
• Experience working within the public sector is desirable
• ICAEW / ACCA / CIPFA / ICAS qualification is preferred
