Financial Accountant - Robert Walters : Job Details

My client, one of Liverpool's leading FS businesses, are looking to hire a Financial Accountant to join their brand new offices in Liverpool City Centre.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and diligent Financial Accountant to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, where you will be responsible for both management accounts and financial reporting. Your excellent attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to adapt to shifting resource requirements will be key to your success in this role. You will have the chance to work alongside other members of the accounts team, preparing monthly management accounts for all group entities, assisting in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts, audit and other regulatory reporting.

The role is ideal for someone ACA qualified, top 10 practice trained, who is technically strong, has worked with complex businesses, but who also has a commercial mindset to get involved in ad hoc projects.

What you'll do:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts.
• Review postings to purchase and sales ledgers and coding in the nominal ledger.
• Control of revenue recognition for all revenue streams.
• Assist in the review and authorisation of monthly employee expenses.
• Liaise with Group banking providers to overcome operational issues.
• Assist in the production of drafts of statutory accounts for all group entities.
• Assist with the preparation of budget and forecast models.
• VAT reporting and tax returns

What you bring:

• Experience of key accounting principles.
• Competent use of Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of UK tax reporting regime.
• High degree of attention to detail.
• Ability to work to deadlines and independently plan workloads.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of Access Financials accounting system.
