We are also passionate about improving the local communities in which we operate, targeting tangible social value outcomes that make a meaningful difference to everyday lives and the environment.The RoleAs our Financial Controller, you’ll oversee the financial operations of the business.Providing strategic and operational support to the Board of Directors, you’ll ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organisation by managing all aspects of financial services, including accounting, finance, payroll and the parent company finance relationship.You’ll enhance profitability and cost optimisation, as well as overseeing cash flow management, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and risk management. Additionally, you’ll build effective relationships across the business, providing advice to support department change initiatives and the delivery of new financial strategies, policies and procedures.About YouTo be considered as our Financial Controller, you will need to demonstrate:- Appropriate professional qualifications, ACCA/ACA preferred- Meticulous accounting skills and knowledge of procedures- Positive and constructive outlook, with powerful analytical thinking and problem-solving skills- Ability to work effectively under time pressure with a hands-on approach- Excellent communication skills, with a flexible and approachable manner- Leadership skills and ability to coach non-financial managers- Experience within an established SME would be highly advantageous- High level of integrity and confidentiality- Champion high standards and attention to accuracy, compliance, and deadlines- Confidence in liaising with regulatory representatives and professionals in external organisations- Highly proactive approach- Strengths in information technology skills, particularly accounting packages, and systems- Experience in sourcing and implementing accounting systems would be advantageous - Extensive practical experience - Proven experience as a Finance Director in a similar-scale environment in the Construction sector- Experience of subsidiary accounting practices - desirable- Operating knowledge of COINSOther organisations may refer to this role as Chief Financial Officer, Director of Finance, Head of Finance, Senior Finance Manager, Finance Executive, Director of Financial Planning, Finance and Operations Director, or Financial Strategy Director.
