Are you a Qualified Accountant with experience working within an SME? Are you interested in working for a growing business based in the heart of London?

If so, we are working with Facilities Services business who are seeking a Financial Controller to be the first Qualified Accountant within the business.

The role will work with the external accountants on all financial and management reporting, and will be tasked with driving growth and profitability of the business, by analysing trends across 200+ sites and client margins, as well as business partnering with internal and external stakeholders and project leads.

The role will pay up to £75k DOE + bonus, and will be in the office 4 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and provide insightful financial analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Oversee all accounting operations in a department of 3, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and cash flow management.
  • Develop budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring site trends and client margins to drive profitability and growth of the business.
  • Act as a business partner for internal and external stakeholders, as well as project leads and managers.
  • Implement and monitor robust financial controls to safeguard company assets, ensure accuracy in financial reporting, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Regularly review and enhance control processes to mitigate risks and support business integrity.
  • Driving process improvements across the finance department and overseeing any systems requirements and implementations.

Role Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a similar role, ideally within an SME/growth business.
  • Experience of analysing projects and site trends, as well as percentage margin is beneficial.
  • Strong Excel skills are required, and experience using Sage is a plus.
  • Able to work independently and manage a growing finance function.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide actionable financial insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey financial information to non-finance colleagues.
