Financial Controller

Location: Louth

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

The role of Financial Controller

• Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, as well as reporting of the same
• Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organisation
• Responsible for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organisation that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows
• Comply with national financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action to ensure compliance
• Develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract/grant compliance and reporting
• Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyse internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement including development of AI policy within the business
• Perform risk management through analysis and recommend actions to reduce adverse risks within the business
• Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for earnings to present to the management team and Board
• Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities including UK GAAP, HMRC, Data Protection

The ideal candidate for the role of Financial Controller

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (a finalist will also be considered)
• Proven experience in a senior accounting role
• Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
• Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
