Financial Controller - West Cornwall - £: Excellent + good benefits

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been re-engaged by a past client, a highly successful prominent services business based in West Cornwall, to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. The role will see the successful candidate join as the number two of a sizeable accounting team, on a full-time and permanent basis. Whilst it will be principally based in West Cornwall, there is the added benefit of being able to work from home too.

This is a pivotal role within the company, where the successful candidate will join at senior management level and assume large scale responsibility for the group accounting function. Reporting to the Head of Finance, and liaising closely with other departments and multiple external stakeholders, the successful candidate will also assume management of several junior members of the team.

Key features of the role to include:

- Lead responsibility for all accounting protocols and maintaining robust internal controls

- Ensuring compliance to all relevant reporting standards

- Identifying and implementing improvements to the function

- Production and delivery of detailed management accounts

- Managing the compilation of sales activity budgets and reforecasts.

- Deputising for HoF during periods of absence

- Production of cashflow and KPI forecasts

- Working with a wide range of stakeholders

We’re looking for a dynamic, energetic and down-to-earth Financial Controller with a demonstrable history of success. As a professionally qualified individual (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), you’ll need a solid background in preparation of financial and management reports, up to date knowledge of accounting standards and budgetary controls and treasury management. It’s a big job, but a rewarding one, which will be well suited to a driven FC who cares about their colleagues as much as their clients.
