Financial Controller - Law Firm - FRS Ltd : Job Details

Our client is a well regarded and high growth legal firm working nationally from their head office within the East Midlands.

As part of the firms continued growth, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a Financial Controller / Head of Finance.

This vacancy is a full time and permanent position and will work closely with CFO, wide Exec and Operational teams taking day to day financial responsibility for the firm and driving operational improvement and efficiency

• Management of the purchase ledger, billing and credit control functions within the accounts team and line management of the 4 staff within the team.
• Setting up a department following the expansion of the firm, including, recruitment, training and ongoing management, coaching and support.
• Budgeting/forecasting and preparation of monthly management accounts and MI.
• Responsible for the fixed asset register.
• Management of Bank Accounts, Cashflow and relationship manager with Bank
• Management and reporting to the firm, of all areas of time recording and available billing.
• Providing training to non accounts staff to ensure accurate time recording and billing.
• Responsibility for external audit

Production of financial MI for the firm to be able to review the performance and driven improvement in efficiency Responsible for bank account and client account reconciliationResponsibility for IIP and Lexcel and Assistant to COFA for the companyAd hoc improvement projects as required re evolving the firms processes / systems / controls.

The ideal candidate will ideally be qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / AAT) or working towards formal qualification and ideally have the benefit of previous experience gained working within an either a Law firm (with knowledge of law regulations) or AN other regulated industry

This position will work closely with the COFA / CFO for the Group and Firm Managing Partner playing a key role in the financial and operational management of the firm.In return my client is able to offer this position with Hybrid working, a basic salary up to £65,000 + Bonus and excellent company benefits.
