Our client is looking for a Fire Engineer to join their independent Consultancy specialising in Fire Safety and Engineering Services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a wide range of sectors including commercial, industrial, nuclear, and many more.
Fire Engineer Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering (Fire, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or similar)
- Experience of providing fire safety advice in the nuclear sector and in a conventional environment
- Experience of implementing the principle of fire science to real projects
- Experience of management of fire safety on construction sites
- Full UK Driving License
- Computer Literate E.g. Blue Beam, Microsoft, CAD, Smoke modelling software
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to travel within UK and Overseas
- Knowledge of legislation, regulations, national and international standards
- Knowledge of Fire Water Network and Fire water pumping systems including fire water pumps, storage tanks etc.
- NEBOSH Fire Certificate (Desirable)
Fire Engineer Duties:
- Develop fire strategies and performance-based designs, supported by fire and evacuation modelling, risk analysis and cost benefit analysis
- Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders
- Produce fire safety engineering reports
- Review design information such as drawings and documents
- Ensure work is compliant with client expectations and contractual obligations
- Resolve fire engineering concerns by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards
- Support junior members of staff
