Description
- Be the first point of contact for technical queries relating to fire and life safety
- Ensure compliance with the Fire Strategies within the business, particularly during project and construction works
- Support achieving compliance with the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order (2005), specifically Part 1, Article 5 and Part 2, Articles 8-23
- Support in the undertaking of Fire Risk Assessments and ensuring recommendations are considered and action taken against them in a timely manner
- Keep up to date and advise on any legal or building regulation changes to make sure our design standards and ways of working are updated accordingly
Profile
- Qualification in fire engineering or fire safety management at Degree or Diploma level (or equivalent)
- Good understanding of Engineering
- Desirable - membership of IFE or IFSM
- Understanding of fire safety systems and fire prevention systems
- Experience in the application of technical standards
- Be able to understand and apply knowledge of fire safety standards and guidance documents (as mentioned above BS9999 and Approved Document B Part 2)
- A subject matter expert, making sure that we are always legally compliant
- Strong at building working relationships with key stakeholders across all levels - highly approachable and a strong communicator with the ability to influence behaviours
- Responsible, able to support the lead of the fire safety function
- Ability to work to tight deadlines in a very fast paced environment
