Job Description :

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an FME Geospatial Specialist to join an innovative solutions team working on a variety of exciting and data-led change programmes. This role offers the chance to make a significant contribution by leveraging FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) to aggregate, manage, integrate, and analyze complex datasets. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality data insights and solutions, driving meaningful geospatial and data modeling projects, and contributing to the development of cutting-edge geospatial data products to enhance decision-making processes.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of technical data projects by understanding client requirements, designing solutions, and developing FME-based systems to manage, integrate, and analyze geospatial and non-geospatial data.
  • Utilize FME to automate workflows, perform spatial ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), and deliver actionable insights from diverse datasets.
  • Design and develop innovative geospatial data solutions, incorporating automation, analytics, and data science techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical, functional, and user documentation to support third-party approvals and system handovers.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies by leveraging FME and other GIS tools to optimize operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver detailed data analysis and actionable insights, supporting informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the use of FME for spatial data management, integration, and analysis.
Skills & Experience:
  • FME Expertise: Advanced experience with FME, including spatial ETL processes, data aggregation, management, and analysis of complex datasets (3+ years).
  • Geospatial Data Knowledge: Proficiency in geospatial data manipulation, integration, and analytics using GIS tools such as QGIS, ESRI, or MapInfo.
  • Experience in data integration, including workflow automation, spatial data validation, metadata management, and ensuring data quality.
  • Proficiency in databases, SQL, and optimization techniques; familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with coding languages or scripting for task automation and advanced data manipulation (advantageous).
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to present complex data findings as clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and delivering innovative data products.
Additional Requirements:
  • Hybrid Working: One day per fortnight required for in-person project meetings (Midlands).
  • Salary: Competitive, c£45,000 - £50,000 (negotiable based on experience).
  • Eligibility: Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship.
