We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Teacher of Food Technology Teacher to join one of our esteemed provisions. As a Food Technology Teacher, you will play an essential role in delivering high-quality education to pupils aged 11-16, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in the category of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and practical lessons in Food Technology at Key Stage 3 (KS3), with the opportunity for pupils to advance to GCSE level.
- Work closely with the school's experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and support staff who assist in every lesson, ensuring a high level of individual attention for each pupil.
- Utilise and develop effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and promote learning.
- Monitor and track pupil progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff to ensure holistic care and education for pupils.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers, ensuring clear communication and support.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and GCSE level
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet a range of abilities and needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
