Freight Forwarding Manager - Bennett & Game Recruitment : Job Details

Bennett and Game are currently working alongside a well-established freight and specialist transport company providing comprehensive international freight services. They offer 24/7 distribution and time-critical logistics solutions, ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods globally. They are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Road Freight Supervisor to join their dynamic team. The role is based in the Leicester area.

The Road Freight Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the road freight team. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising teams within Import, Export, or Customs disciplines, and must possess a strong understanding of multi-modal freight, with a particular focus on road freight. You will ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective transport operations, while maintaining high standards of service to our customers.

• Team Supervision: Lead, mentor, and manage the road freight team, ensuring high performance and efficient operations.

• Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day activities related to road freight, ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations.

• Import/Export/Customs Compliance: Ensure all import, export, and customs procedures are followed, resolving any issues or delays.

• Customer Service: Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing timely and accurate updates on shipments and handling any queries or issues.

• Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., warehouse, customs, and distribution) to ensure smooth coordination of shipments across multiple modes of transport.

• Problem Solving: Address any logistical challenges or operational disruptions promptly, ensuring minimal impact on service.

• Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory role within road freight, with additional knowledge in import, export, and customs disciplines.
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of multi-modal freight, with road freight being essential.
