Position Overview :
An exciting opportunity exists for an Occupational Therapist to deliver Allied Health clinical services as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health, in compliance with our organisational policies, the Aged Care Act, and Quality Standards. For non-Australian citizens or permanent residents, we are open to offering sponsorship for the right candidate willing to relocate to Australia to work with us . This full-time role will primarily be based at Head Office in Spring Hill , Brisbane CBD area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning to identify their needs and goals
- Develop individualised treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices and client-centred approaches
- Provide interventions that promote independence, safety, and participation in daily activities, including self-care, productivity, and leisure
- Recommend and implement environmental modifications, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology to enhance clients' functional abilities
- Collaborate with clients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic care
- Provide education and training to clients, families, and caregivers on topics such as fall prevention, energy conservation, and stress management
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress notes
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and professional development activities to enhance service delivery and clinical skills
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or willingness to
- Ability to drive. Have a valid Australian Driver’s Licence or willingness to obtain one
- For Australian Citizen and Permanent Resident applicant, having access to a reliable, registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to deliver assessments and recommendations
- Relevant experience in a community setting (preferred)
- Strong clinical problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated experience in home modifications and AT prescription
- Well-developed communication skills both written and verbal
- Proactively and flexibly self-manages a workload
- Empathy and ability to build rapport with a variety of people
- Have current Australian Police Check or willing to obtain one
- Proficiency in Polish language is highly regarded.
- Proficiency in additional languages is highly regarded.
