We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our vibrant team. This role demands a professional with a deep commitment to enhancing the educational experience of young people with diverse and complex needs. The ideal candidate will have unflinchingly high aspirations for all students and a continuous commitment to understanding and meeting their unique needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Design and deliver highly individualised learning programmes based on each learner’s EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) and initial assessments.
  • Ensure all learners make better than expected progress by delivering effective teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Engage actively in college life, contributing to a supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Utilise data and continuous assessment to guide interventions and improve learner outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain communication with parents, carers, and external partners to support learner progress and transition into community life.
  • Support learners in building achievement portfolios and preparing for person-centred reviews.
  • Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants and other staff to ensure effective learning support and resource development.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of work-based learning experiences, including internal and external work placements and enterprise projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in special education, particularly in designing and implementing individualised learning plans.
  • Full teaching qualification.
  • Strong understanding of the legal and procedural elements of managing EHCPs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to use learning technologies effectively and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Commitment to professional development and staying updated with sector trends and best practices.
