The RoleWe are seeking a Functional Skills Tutor to join a leading provider in the training sector. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Functional Skills courses in English and Maths, a key component of an Apprenticeship Standard, to a diverse group of learners.
- Manage mixed-level groups of trainees, including those with learning difficulties (max class size: 16).
- Conduct assessments, invigilate exams, and mark assignments.
- Provide fair, constructive feedback both in written and verbal formats.
- Offer remedial training and revision as required during working hours.
- Prepare lesson plans, learning resources, and student support materials.
- Regularly review teaching inputs in response to changing needs of students and the programme.
This is a full-time position (37 hours per week) with hybrid working arrangements: 4 weeks in the office/on-site and 1 week working remotely. Essential Experience:
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven experience in delivering training or teaching in a similar environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Understanding of work-based learning programmes.
Qualifications:
- Functional Skills Level 2 English.
- Functional Skills Level 2 Maths.
