Job Description :

I'm recruiting a Fund Controller for a leading international, upscale, multi-site retail organisation who have grown their international footprint markedly over recent years. Specialising in brands & labels, they have achieved genuine success by tailoring their offering to suit local markets to great effect and this is an excellent opportunity to join a business on the up. This is a newly created role as they now seek to create a fund to manage several of their property-based assets.

Reporting to a Head of Finance, the Fund Controller will recruit & lead a team of up to 4 staff and be responsible for all elements of accounting, financial reporting and statutory / tax compliance for a portfolio of assets within the Fund. Specific duties include:

  • Initial creation of a Joint Venture with Institutional investors, including coordination of entity structure set up, compliance framework, consolidation accounting and reporting activities.
  • Prepare / review monthly & quarterly financial statements for Luxembourg entities including the venture consolidation.
  • Create and review financial information in local GAAP, IFRS and INREV e.g. through the review of reporting templates, fund documentation, investor reporting and cash flow forecasting.
  • Recruit / manage the Fund Accounting team (likely to include two or three accountants).
  • Oversee and be responsible for the preparation of the JV's monthly NAV / unit price and quarterly investor reporting.
  • Supervise the statutory & tax compliance of the entities within and the statutory audit of the Fund.
  • Support acquisitions and sales transactions.

The ideal candidate for the position of Fund Controller will:

  • Be a qualified accountant with significant prior experience as a Fund Controller / Fund Accountant in a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrate strong IFRS reporting experience, ideally with additional exposure to Lux GAAP / INREV.
  • Possess strong leadership & staff management capabilities including leading / developing a team.

Salary: £100000 - £115000 + 30% bonus (good track record) + excellent benefits.
