GLOBAL LEAD CATEGORY BUYER – TOMATO – GLOBAL FOOD MANUFACTURING – BARCELONA -€90,000 + PACKAGE + RELOCATION SUPPORT

I’ve partnered with a leading global food manufacturing business to recruit a new Global Buyer to join their fast-paced, strategic procurement function. With an annual turnover of more than €1.4bn, 30 local brands operating across 50 countries in Europe and Africa, this is a chance for the right candidate to step into a truly global role with full autonomy over their remit.

The Global Category Buyer will have a key mission: To define, communicate and ensure short-, medium- and long-term category strategy implementation across the tomato portfolio – in the region of €80m. You’ll be tasked with delivering strategic and sustainable business advantages by using market intelligence, economies of scale, cost competitiveness, efficiency, risk management and strategic alliances with partners and innovation.

Global Category Buyer role profile:

• Full ownership of €80m spend across tomatoes – the largest single spend category across the business, focusing on defining and executing strategy.
• Anticipating and resiliency to adapt the strategy to any potential changes (regulatory, import bands, duties, market dynamics, etc) as well as adopting risk management to guarantee a sustainable and competitive advantage.
• Define supplier relationship management depending on a more strategic or tactical approach.
• Establish governance and control guaranteeing transparency and procurement execution

The Ideal Category Buyer will have:

• Proven track record across end-to-end procurement, ideally within tomatoes but a strong fresh produce/ commodities background will be sufficient.
• A minimum of five years’ experience within an FMCG environment
• Fluent in English and Spanish. Italian is desirable.
• SAP knowledge
