We are on the lookout for a high-performing Global Category Manager to lead a key category to be based in the Manchester region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial / manufacturing sectors, with a focus on strategic procurement.

Description

As the Global Category Manager, you will,

• Develop and implement a category strategy for key areas of spend.
• Be a part of a high performing function, sharing best practice, and supporting each other in goal delivery
• Building strategic relationships with key suppliers, a gain insight into new technology to support NPD
• Driving cost savings and efficiency improvements, both through materials and VA/VE routes
• Manage risk, primarily on supply and quality
• Overseeing the performance management of suppliers and contracts.

Profile

A successful Global Category Manager should have:

• Ideally an Engineering related degree / educational background, and have a significant procurement track record
• Proven within the development and roll out of a category strategy, supplying in a global manufacturing footprint
• Project leadership skills with the ability to drive and manage change.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ideally, knowledge of the supply markets of complex engineering assemblies (including Drives, Motors, and Engines)
