Description
As the Global Category Manager you will:
- Review the current supply base and contracts in place, highlighting risk (contractual / capacity / supplier capability), driving improvements, and resourcing where necessary
- Build close working relationships with Engineering, and Sales teams, engaging at the beginning of NPD processes. You will support supplier selection (against capability and capacity requirements), and manage risk upfront with robust contract negotiation
- Develop processes to ensure current and future activities support a more efficient approach from source to contract, into BAU
- Review new sourcing opportunities to build a more sustainable supply base (cost / political / environmental)
- Support the organisation to develop an understanding of the importance of Procurement in managing risk, and leading to better business outcomes
Profile
A successful Global Category Manager should have:
- Expertise in strategic sourcing and contracts, understanding the need for flow down and indemnity clauses
- Proficiency in supplier management and negotiations.
- Ability to identify and analyse a supplier's ability to become a long term partner
- Ideally, knowledge of the defence and aerospace sector, specifically with a working knowledge of sourcing bought out / finished product
- Exposure to Project Management tools
- Understanding and ability to develop systems and processes
