Job Description :

Kennedys is looking for a Global Mobility Assistant to join our HR team, in Manchester.

Working alongside the Global Mobility Manager to provide support with international moves, global mobility policies and processes, monitoring compliance and promoting international opportunities.

The Global Mobility Assistant will be the first point of contact for all immigration matters, and will have responsibility for our Connect and Collaborate programmes and International Remote Work requests.

Connect Leave allows individuals to work from another Kennedys office for a maximum of 5 days.

Collaborate is a programme which we will be running on an annual basis, allowing successful candidates to work from another Kennedys global office or client or Associate office for two weeks.

Requests to work from abroad for a limited period are considered within a permissible 'International Remote Work' framework.

Team

This role sits within the HR Team, working closely with colleagues in the Tax, Risk and Compliance and Facilities (Business Travel) teams.

Kennedys HR team support the firm around the world with all people related matters.

The HR team is based in Chelmsford, Manchester and London for the UK, Dublin and Belfast for EMEA, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia for APAC, Basking Ridge for US and Miami for LATAM. The areas of HR that we have responsibility for are Business Partnering, Learning and Development, Recruitment, Responsible Business, Policies and Operations, Reward and HR Systems. The HR function is also responsible for the Secretarial function in the UK.

You will be working in a fast-paced, demanding, and global environment as we strive to make a difference for our people, clients and communities where we work.

Key responsibilities

  • Management of immigration compliance, including:
    • Work permit/visa applications
    • Liaison with immigration provider
    • Monitoring of UK visa end dates and assistance with extensions or change of visa type
    • Preparation of confirmation of employment letters
    • Updating HR systems with right to work information
    • Support with global immigration queries and processes
  • Management of Kennedys 'Connect Leave' and 'Collaborate' programmes, and International Remote Work requests.
  • Seek continuous improvement on the programmes, including:
    • Internal promotion (intranet articles, comms to HR global team, business leaders and employees)
    • Answering queries from employees and supervisors
    • Collating applicant info and reviewing proposals
    • Supporting with arrangements for selected applicants
    • International Remote Work - validating requests in line with policy

Required experience

  • A basic level of UK immigration knowledge
  • A basic understanding of tax and social security implications arising from international secondments and relocations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised and able to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and to be pro-active
  • Keen interest to learn and expand their proficiency in this specialist area of HR
  • Prior experience in Global Mobility is desirable but not essential.
