Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Graduate Engineer or Graduate Applications Engineer. This role involves the execution of customer orders, requiring a hands-on approach and the ability to work in diverse environments. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training, often on-the-job, and must be prepared for occasional long hours and overseas travel.

Job Purpose

  • Execution of Customer Orders
    • Company products: robotic drilling, inspection, and guidance
    • Developing measurement plans and geometric dimensioning/tolerances
    • Performing robot simulation and offline robot programming
    • Metrology setup and systems setup
  • Customer Engagement
    • Deliver demonstrations, training, acceptance testing, and support

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Support increased adoption of technology to accelerate business growth
  • Deliver standard products to the market with full training provided
    • High level of customer-facing activity, often out of the office
  • Act as a technical liaison with suppliers, demonstrating and supporting the latest technology, ensuring equipment is in calibration and good working order
  • Deliver customer demonstrations, benchmarks, training, and technical pre-sales support
  • Develop and update best practice usage of the equipment for internal and external customers
  • Coordinate projects during each phase
  • Provide first-line support for customers until the system buy-off

Ancillary Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales support, primarily robot simulation and demos
  • Conduct product testing and debugging
  • Contribute to the delivery of new R&D programs

Qualifications

Essential

  • Graduate / Degree in Technical subject ie. Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics or Electro-Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
  • Proficient in English
  • Driving license

Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience of CAD/simulation beneficial
  • Practically competent (can use tools as well as a computer)
  • Good presentation skills

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Travel around the country with occasional overnight stays, sometimes on short notice, and occasionally abroad
  • Capable of normal physical work (lifting and moving equipment in and out of cars/vans)
  • Prepared to help out wherever required for successful project delivery
