Graduate Mechanical Engineer - Bennett & Game Recruitment : Job Details

Graduate Mechanical Engineer required for a niche machinery design and manufacturing business based near Norwich. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an established micro-business that has global reach and reputation. Real, hands-on engineering will be combined with proactive customer contact and areas such as control system design. The role would start around 50:50 workshop/office, depending on candidate skills and product demand. There will be opportunities for occasional international travel, particularly in relation to the sales and service aspects, including exhibiting at an international trade show in Europe every four years. Brand new and spacious working and office areas provide a pleasant working environment and include beautiful views of the Norfolk countryside.

It would be a requirement that any candidate becomes proficient at several, if not all of the following (in approximate order of importance):

• Mechanical assembly and fitting, including use of hand and machine tools
• Electrical wiring
• Technical sales and marketing
• Technical aspects of procurement
• Inspection (quality control)
• Troubleshooting and service
• Control system design and programming
• Interface design
• Mechanical design

The candidate is expected to help maintain the company's strong reputation as a leader in a global market and taking the initiative to continue moving the company forward.

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Excellent communication skills, particularly relating to customer contact
• Capable of problem solving and good decision-making
• A candidate that will independently study and take an interest in relevant knowledge

Graduate Mechanical Engineer Position Remuneration

• Salary £25k-£30k dependent on experience
• 5 hours per week with flexible timing
