Grounds Maintenance Operative - Tranquil Recruitment Solutions Ltd : Job Details

Job OverviewWe are looking for motivated and reliable Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our team for the upcoming grass cutting season, running from mid-March 2025 to the end of October 2025. The successful candidate will primarily work with the Grounds Maintenance team, assisting with grass cutting using strimmers and other grounds maintenance tasks. When required, you will also support the Cleansing team with duties such as litter picking, assisting area cabac drivers, and completing other specific tasks.

Duties

• Operate strimmers and other equipment for grass cutting across various locations as part of the Grounds Maintenance team.
• Ensure grassed areas are neatly trimmed and maintained, working efficiently and safely.
• Perform daily checks and basic maintenance on strimmers and equipment.
• Assist with the general maintenance of outdoor spaces, including lawn care, hedging, shrub trimming, and other horticultural duties.
• Ensure that all tools and equipment are kept in good working order and are safely stored.
• Follow health and safety guidelines when using machinery and handling tools.
• Carry out litter picking and general cleaning of public areas, ensuring spaces remain clean and safe for the community.
• Assist area cabac drivers when required, including tasks related to the transportation of equipment and materials.
• Perform other specific tasks as directed by supervisors or team leaders.
• Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues in completing tasks efficiently.
• Respond flexibly to any changes in priorities or tasks as required by operational needs.

Experience

• Ability to operate and maintain strimmers and other grounds maintenance equipment.
• Experience in working outdoors and handling grounds maintenance or horticultural tasks.
• Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
• Ability to work well in a team, with a positive and cooperative attitude.
• Flexibility to support the Cleansing team when required.
• Previous experience with litter picking and cleansing tasks.
• A valid driver’s license may be beneficial, depending on the location.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures within outdoor work environments.
• Experience working with public-facing teams and providing a high standard of service.
