Henderson Scott (Search Recruitment Group) is pleased to be working with our client, who is within the software industry based in Burton on Trent, as they seek an experienced Group Accountant. This position is pivotal to the consolidation and reporting of financial information across the organisation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.

The Person

Requirements as a Group Accountant:

  • The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic financial initiatives and maintaining robust financial controls.
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with proven post-qualification experience, ideally in a group accounting role.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with expertise in consolidations and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a strong analytical mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines efficiently.

The Role

Key Responsibilities as a Group Accountant:

  • Prepare and manage group financial reports, including consolidations and periodic financial statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all financial reporting in line with IFRS or other applicable standards.
  • Analyse group financial performance and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with finance teams across various business units to standardise reporting processes.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis on a group level.
  • Support the external audit process and liaise with auditors as required.
  • Develop and implement improvements to financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines efficiently.

The Package:

  • Competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (+ bonus and car)
