Group Finance Director / CFO - FRS Ltd : Job Details

Our client is a sizable and well respected multi-site business operating within the Motor Retail Sector with a strong history of both organic and acquisition growth and exciting plans ahead for the both short and long term.

As a result of retirement of a long term member of staff (10+ Yrs), FRS have been engaged to assist with the recruitment of a Qualified Accountant to join the business in a No 1 Capacity as Group Finance Director / CFO Due to the wide reaching and outward facing nature of Motor Retail, FRS have been engaged to complete a National / International Search on this vacancy however hybrid working and or relocation package can be offered.

This recruitment process is being kick started in advance of the clients need to have someone in place to enable a comprehensive search and afforded notice period with a ideal start date in Q2 / Q3 2025

This employer has a well-established team of operational financial controllers at site / dealership level therefore enabling the successful candidate to focus more on commercial value add and strategic growthWorking closely with the Chairman and Group MD across the UK wide dealerships, this position will take ownership of

• Management of relationships with external parties and funders - Banks, Insurance, Audit etc
• Work in partnership with Chairman, Group MD and wider exec re Strategic Planning for the Group
• Oversee Budgeting, Forecasting and KPI's
• Business Analysis, Cost Reduction and Improvement for the Group
• Group Cash and Working Capital Management
• Play a key role in M&A, Due Diligence and Integrations
• Manage close relationships with banks raising Funds and negotiating banking arrangements
• Build and develop a high functioning team both in Group and Operational Finance Areas

This is a key position for the business and a significant package including market leading basic salary (£200k+), Cars, Bonus and Profit and Growth Shares can be offered giving a OTE of between £400k-500k plus a number of other benefits.

For this vacancy, candidates must be / have.

• Previous experience gained within the Motor Retail and or Automotive Manufacturing Industry
• Formally qualified Ideally ACA or CA but ACCA or CIMA also considered
• Previous experience gained within the industry operating in Finance Director / CFO Capacity
• Desire to be involved in Operational and Group / Central Finance and willing to travel to business units.
• Previous experience gained of delivering M&A Activity

Ideal Criteria but note essential

• Experienced in a growing business in excess of £400m T/O
• Experience within Motor Retail will be from the most recent position (i.e currently working within the Industry)
