Group Financial ControllerIsleham: Cambridgeshire with flexibility Broster Buchanan are delighted to be working in partnership with Burgess Farms, a family business with over 125 year heritage. You will be hard pressed to find a more passionate business, who play an active part in supporting the local community as well as placing great care on the land they farm via Organic and traditional methods. With the support of an established team, the position of Group Financial Controller will take the lead on financial reporting, statutory reporting and treasury/ banking arrangements, along with enhancing communication across the wider business. The business continues to invest in large capital projects, and the role will play a part in co-ordinating the spend and raising capital where required You will be encouraged to promote a team culture of business partnering, to help finance play a more prominent role in wider business decisions and thus someone who enjoys getting up from the desk and building relationships, is required. Key duties include but not limited to:
- Ownership of the monthly board pack, consolidated weekly flash reporting, budgets, quarterly forecasts and business plans.
- Managing the Group treasury function including cash forecasting, banking covenants and cash utilisation reporting.
- Managing the ledger teams to a suite of KPIs understood by all business stakeholders.
- Providing fit for purpose publication of financial reports and commentary to a pre-agreed routine.
- Managing the year end audit and statutory accounts.
- Regular liaison with the Site Finance Business Partners to provide guidance and support.
- Deputise for Board Manager as appropriate.
- Drive continuous improvement to MI reports and processes e.g. Business KPI’s
- Proactively identify financial opportunities, risks and trends and raise these with Board.
- Ensure Central overheads are regularly reported, reviewed and controlled.
- Ensure strong financial controls are in place across the Business.
What are the essentials? –-You will be CCAB qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar) and have a broad range of experience gained in practice then industry, or purely from industry.-A sound knowledge of accounting standards, tax and VAT legislation-Experienced in cash management, ideally in a seasonal business-Good IT skills for manipulation of data and presenting to both internal and external parties-People person is essential along with the ability to advise and influence.-Enjoys developing a high performance team-An understanding of the produce sector would be a big advantage but not essential.
