Job Description :

To assist the team lead in ensuring product pricing aligns with organisational risk appetite and financial goals, while contributing to the development of new offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regular pricing processes, including management information (MI), yield curves, and business planning, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and standards.
  • Assist in maintaining and reviewing pricing frameworks and approaches for existing and new products.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment on financial metrics across pricing, reinsurance, valuation, and capital management.
  • Support the maintenance and development of data, processes, and systems, ensuring adequate quality assurance, controls, and documentation.
  • Contribute to project delivery and business-as-usual (BAU) activities, as well as broader organizational initiatives.
  • Streamline processes by integrating new technologies into workflows, enhancing team capabilities.
  • Maintain personal professional development and competence, supporting team objectives as needed.
Activities
  • Perform and oversee key development projects and BAU tasks, including preparing MI and yield curve analyses, and sharing findings with stakeholders.
  • Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to share insights and address queries, while supporting ongoing initiatives.
  • Automate processes and improve operational efficiency using modern technology.
  • Ensure completeness and robustness of data, tools, models, and documentation, working with internal teams and auditors to establish effective controls.
  • Foster collaboration within the team to maintain consistency in pricing, reinsurance, and reserving practices.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong analytical, data handling, and modelling skills with an innovative mindset.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex concepts effectively.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and supervising team members.
  • Proficiency in IT tools, including Power BI and coding languages like Python or Julia, alongside advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of organisational products, risks, and capital requirements.
  • Understanding of industry dynamics, target markets, and internal operational systems.
  • Commitment to maintaining up-to-date professional knowledge.
Experience
  • Relevant experience in the UK Insurance/Reinsurance Industry.
  • Exposure to pricing and development of related products, such as annuities or similar offerings.
  • Desirable experience in capital management, actuarial reporting, and asset/liability management (ALM).
  • Nearly or fully qualified actuarial professional (or equivalent certification).
